Activities & Athletics

What is offered? What does a student need to participate? Where can I find out if a game or activities has been cancelled?

A guide to athletics and activities is included in the first day packet. In addition, the website is an excellent source of current information on activities and athletics.

Most teams hold tryouts; however, some, such as track, football and swim/dive are open to all.

Regardless of which sport a student chooses, he/she must have a valid VHSL physical form on file in the Activities Office for the current year. The physical form can be found on the website or picked up in the Activities Office. The high school sports form is different than the one distributed in middle school. The doctor’s examination must have been completed after May 1st for the upcoming school year.

For information on sports, visit: www.yorktownsports.org. Use the Activity Hotline at 703-228-5361 to find out if a game or activity has been cancelled. Several sports have parent booster clubs that work together to raise funds and provide snacks and other assistance to the coaching staff.
