How do lockers work at Yorktown?
The lockers are assigned to students in their freshman year. Students use the same lockers for all four years of high school.
Lockers and padlocks are school property, and as such, can be searched at any time by school administrators to maintain the safety and security of the Yorktown High School community. For security reasons, lockers are not to be shared.
The school is not responsible for items lost or stolen, and students are encouraged to leave valuables (e.g., electronic devices) at home. These valuables are particularly vulnerable if left outside a locked locker during PE or while at the pool. Students should report stolen items as soon as possible to any assistant principal.
Due to the size of the school, many students limit their use of lockers between classes and just carry their books in backpacks.
