Overnight Sour Cream Coffee Cake

Ingredients

  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar
  • 6 tablespoons margarine
  • 1 slightly beaten egg
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup sour cream

Streusel Topping

  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

Method of Preparation

  • Grease the bottom of an 8 inch square pan.
  • Cream together sugar, brown sugar and butter. Add the egg.
  • Add dry ingredients to creamed butter and sugar mixture.
  • Stir in sour cream.
  • Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  • Mix together the topping of brown sugar and cinnamon.
  • Sprinkle on top of batter.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and place in refrigerator.
  • When ready to bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 25-30 minutes or until coffee cake tests done.
