Lifting Lives United

The mission of Lifting Lives United is to spread awareness and help fund support systems associated with systemic educational inequalities. We address educational disparities throughout the entirety of the system, not only in Yorktown and Arlington Public Schools, but in the broader NOVA community as well.

Our goal is to help students understand the negative impacts that unequal education can have on those of a lower socioeconomic status. It is inferred that many students at Yorktown have not experienced this inequality firsthand, so ignorance is not unlikely. We want our community to open their eyes to the reality that inequalities exist in our school system. By increasing the number of advocates and educating others on the significance of this issue we can make a huge difference.

Another mission of the club is to reach out to ESL students and hopefully create a comfortable environment that suits their learning styles best. We strive to increase inclusion between all students at Yorktown regardless of their socioeconomic status.
