Senior Laptop Collection Information
(last updated 05/10/19)Arlington Public Schools has provided you with technological resources to support your learning both inside and outside of the classroom while enrolled in the district. As we approach graduation day, you are required to turn in any technological device (MacBook Air and charger, wireless hot spot, etc.) that was loaned to you while enrolled in Arlington Public Schools.
|May 6, 2019||The on-time laptop turn-in window opens today. You may turn in your laptop, charger, and any other technological resources assigned to you. You may turn these items in any time before school or during lunch to Mr. Wightman in room 286.|
|May 10, 2019||This is the last day that you can turn in your school-issued MacBook for repair. Turn it in to Mr. Wightman in 268.|
|May 22, 2019||Seniors participating in Senior Experience must turn their laptop in by 3pm on this day in order to participate in Senior Experience and receive their cap and gown. Turn it in to Mr. Wightman in 268 or 282.|
|June 19, 2019||Seniors who are not participating in Senior Experience must turn their laptop in by 3pm on this day in order to participate receive their cap and gown. Turn it in to Mr. Wightman in 268 or 282.|
|June 20, 2019||The families of any student that did not turn in a laptop will be contacted, and the student’s device will be locked. Do not attempt to unlock your laptop.|
|June 20, 2019, 12 noon||This is the last day and time to turn in your laptop/pay any technology financial obligations and participate in any graduation activities.|
Preparing Your MacBook for Turn-In
- Save all of your files and work to an external device, such as a flash drive. Save everything that is saved directly on your computer, everything in your Google Drive, everything saved in OneDrive (Office 365), and on any Arlington Public Schools network drive. Once you have saved your work, sign out of iCloud if you are signed in.
- Remove your protective cover from your device.

Q: Should I turn in my computer if I’ll be attending summer school?
A: Yes. Please turn in your computer, charger, and any other technological resources that were assigned to you. Mr. Wightman will re-issue a computer, charger, and other needed technological resources to you when you begin summer school.
Q: Can I turn in my MacBook early?
A: Please turn in your laptop during the turn-in period.
Q: After I turn in my school-issued MacBook, may I bring in a laptop from home to use while at school?
A: Yes, you may bring in your own laptop to use for the remainder of the school year. Arlington Public Schools is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen devices, so please be mindful when bringing your own laptop.
Q: What if I can’t find my laptop or the charger? What are the fees associated with lost/damaged laptops and lost chargers?
A: If you cannot find your laptop or the charger, you may be responsible for the cost. Please visit this site for a list of charges related to school-issued MacBooks, and see Mr. Wightman or Ms. Mack for more information.
