In this dramatic story, Bethany, at age four responds to “Mirror girl, mirror girl on the wall, who is the most perfect girl of all?” with an emphatic “I am”! Yet as she grows up, the pressures of her life begin to turn her innocent confidence into self-doubt. With warmth and humor, this play explores the forces that can erode confidence and the journey Bethany takes towards self-acceptance.The Theatre IV Class will perform this one-act play this Friday, January 18, at 7:00 pm in the Yorktown Auditorium. Please come see this FREE performance to help the students get ready for the Virginia High School League (VHSL) One Act Play Competition at Marshall High School in Falls Church on Saturday, January 19, at 11:00 am. All are welcome.
PLEASE NOTE: The play deals with issues of peer pressure, divorce, drugs, self harm and suicide, but has a positive ending in which Bethany as a teenager, with the help of her mother, discovers her value and self-worth.
