Welcome to Yorktown High School’s Mathematics Department!

The Mathematics Department at Yorktown High School is dedicated to developing students’ critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and mathematical proficiency. The department offers a comprehensive curriculum ranging from foundational algebra and geometry to advanced calculus and statistics, including various AP-level courses. Teachers focus on fostering a deep understanding of mathematical concepts, preparing students not only for success in future academic pursuits but also for applying quantitative reasoning skills in real-world contexts.

Graduation Requirements

Students need 3 credits of Math to graduate which include:

Algebra I
Geometry
Algebra II

The Math Department recommends that most students consider taking an AP or 4th Year of Math. All AP courses require a teacher signature on the CRF which serves as a recommendation. For additional information or questions you may have, consult:

I have been at 30+ years teaching Mathematics at Yorktown High School. I was a career-switcher after ten years in corporate sales. I live in Arlington and all three of my sons graduated from Yorktown. My wife is the Special Education Pre-School teacher at Tuckahoe ES. In addition to teaching, I coached boy's basketball and girl's softball. I participated in various school committees and was a class sponsor.
