Color Guard (Fall and Winter)

The Yorktown High School Colorguard is inviting new members to join us for the Spring 2021 season.  Open-house practices will be held on Tuesday, March 16, and Thursday, March 18, from 5:30-8:00 PM at the basketball court behind Door 8.  Come learn to spin flag with us!  Accepting all students grades 8-12. No experience is necessary.  Please wear athletic clothes and bring a water bottle.  Masks are required and social distancing will be maintained.

Fall Guard (Marching Season)

The Fall Guard is chosen by audition during May of the prior school year. Membership is not limited, but a successful audition must be completed. Fall Guard encompasses providing the entire scope of visual complement to the Marching Band program by the use of props, equipment and dance. Students are expected to attend regular rehearsals outside of school.

The program engages in regular fund raising as the costs for full participation can run from $400 to $800 in a given school year. Participation in fund raising is optional. Some financial support is available for students demonstrating need. The band also relies on county and school funds as well as donations.

There is an active Band & Guard Boosters organization.

Winter Guard (Indoor Season)

The Winter Guard is chosen by audition during November. Membership is not limited, but a successful audition must be completed. Eighth graders are eligible to audition. Winter Guard encompasses providing the entire scope of visual complement to the Marching Band program by the use of props, equipment and dance. Students are expected to attend regular rehearsals outside of school.

The program engages in regular fund raising as the costs for full participation can run from $500 to $900 in a given school year. Participation in fund raising is optional. Some financial support is available for students demonstrating need. The band also relies on county and school funds as well as donations.

There is an active Band & Guard Boosters organization.
