Theatre One Act (VHSL)

The Virginia High School League sponsors a competitive interscholastic program within groups leading to sectional, super-regional and state recognition. The general purpose of this program is to stimulate interest and participation in dramatic art as a means of furthering the cultural and educational development of students in Virginia high schools. Advanced theatre students perform One Act plays that are 35 or fewer minutes in length. Judges, usually consisting of both high school directors and professionals, evaluate the performances and recognize both the champion and runner-up schools. Also recognized are eight outstanding actors.
