Arlington Civic Engagement Network (ACEN)

ACEN is a student-led organization committed to promoting civic engagement and media literacy through meaningful, peer-driven conversations. Using established dialogue frameworks such as CivilPolitics.org and Living Room Conversations, ACEN creates a relaxed and inclusive space to explore current events, public policy, and media narratives.The club’s goal is to cultivate critical thinking, encourage empathy, and broaden understanding of diverse viewpoints—empowering students to become informed and active members of their communities. Through respectful discussion and proven methods of civil discourse, ACEN fosters curiosity, connection, and shared understanding, helping to enrich school culture and strengthen civic awareness.
